David Binns Retires After 46 Years of Service to Language Education

Sanako UK Ltd today announces the retirement of David Binns, owner and director of Sanako UK Ltd, marking the conclusion of an extraordinary 46-year career dedicated to supporting modern language teaching in the UK.

Throughout nearly five decades with Sanako UK, David Binns has been a tireless advocate for high-quality language education in schools, colleges, and universities. His work has consistently focused on empowering teachers with innovative solutions, practical support, and a strong professional community, helping thousands of learners to access effective and engaging language learning experiences.

David has also been a longstanding and committed supporter of the Association of Language Learning (ALL), where he is recognised as a Fellow. His contribution to ALL and the wider modern foreign languages (MFL) community reflects his belief in collaboration, professional development, and the vital role languages play in education and society.

In recent years, David has expanded his impact beyond technology and professional networks by visiting hundreds of schools across the UK to deliver MFL careers talks. These sessions have encouraged thousands of young people to choose a language at GCSE, highlighting the real-world value of language skills and the diverse career opportunities they unlock. David will continue this important work in retirement through his new website, MFL Insights, ensuring his advocacy for language learning reaches the next generation of students. David will also continue to honour his commitments to Sanako customers in the new year.
